Trev Alberts is one of the most popular and richest American Football Player who was born on August 8, 1970 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, United States. Trev Kendall Alberts (born August 8 in 1970) is an American sports administrator as well as the athletic director in the University of Nebraska Omaha. In 2014, Alberts was chosen to be Vice-Chancellor, in addition to his current role being Director of Athletics. Alberts is an former American professional and college footballer. He played for the college team at the University of Nebraska, and was awarded All-American recognition as a linebacker. He was a professional with the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL) for three seasons following having been drafted as the fifth overall selection at the time of 1994’s NFL Draft. In the following years, he worked as an on-air and print college football commentator, especially working with Mark May on ESPN’s College GameDay Scoreboard show. In January 2015 Alberts was one of 15 athletes and coaches who were selected to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
On the 6th of September on the 6th of September, 2005 Alberts got fired by ESPN for violating the terms of his contract when he refused to show up for work. Alberts later stated that he didn’t wish to “play second fiddle” to the stars that includes College GameDay, Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso.
Alberts was hired in April 2009 to be the director of athletics for the Nebraska–Omaha Mavericks sports program at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Alberts made the controversial decision to eliminate football and wrestling in an effort to bring University of Nebraska-Omaha to Division I’s Summit League. The regents approved the move March 25, 2011.
